The amount of venture capital invested in 2000 now stands at almost $80 billion. That’s a hefty increase from the nearly $60 billion invested in all of 1999. But last year saw phenomenal growth as well: total funding surged an average of 59 percent each quarter. This year, venture funding is holding relatively steady at about $26 billion per quarter, while returns are actually falling. “VCs are taking a breather,” says Jessie Reyes, vice president of Venture Economics....

According to multiple reports from Anthem players in various threads on the game’s official subreddit, after attempting to close out the application via the PS4’s menu, the console then totally shuts down as if the plug had been pulled from an outlet. Apparently, this is an issue that has persisted for some users ever since partaking in the game’s VIP Demo back in February. The problem seems to be so pervasive, that the Redditor known as “SoundAndFury87” chimed in on one of the Anthem threads in question to say that Sony is aware of the issue and supposedly offered the player a complete refund for their digital purchase of the Legion of Dawn edition of the game....

He denies the allegations. Those belonging to People’s Rights gathered outside of Redmond High School on Thursday, according to KTVZ, a television station in Bend, Oregon. It’s part of a 10-day protest against, what they say, is Oregon’s “illegal and expired mask mandate.” While there have been many anti-mask protests around the country, People’s Rights is using a somewhat unique tactic: food coupons. As students approached members of the group, they received materials with information and coupons for food worth up to $5....

The report also states that a total of 4,851 incidents of white supremacist propaganda were reported to the institution last year, compared to an all-time high since the ADL began tracking the data of 5,125 incidents in 2020. While the 2021 number of white supremacist propaganda is lower, it is still double the 2,724 incidents that were reported in 2019. The ADL’s Center on Extremism tracks the distribution of “racist, antisemitic and anti-LGBTQ fliers, stickers, posters, banners and graffiti by various members of far-right and white supremacist groups,” the report states....

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Brown appeared frustrated after having been double-teamed by Lions defenders through the practice. On the play that almost got him booted, he went up for a long pass in the end zone from backup quarterback Landry Jones.
