With lawsuits against Sony in the works, the situation was made worse this week as a second attack resulted in the take down of SOE, rendering popular MMOs like EverQuest, DC Universe Online and Star Wars Galaxies unplayable for the time being. It can’t get any worse, right? Wrong. A third attack may be on the way… CNET has the exclusive from an observer/participant in one of the hackers’ IRC chats that they are preparing for a third assault against “Sony’s website” this weekend....

The skinny: Amelio was always the wrong guy for the job. It has now been confirmed that Steve Gilmour, the lead animator on Anthem, has left BioWare after 17 years of working for the company. Gilmour confirmed the departure with an update on LinkedIn which states that the developer had worked at BioWare since January 2000. The LinkedIn page also confirms that Gilmour worked as Anthem’s lead animator for two years and nine months, from December 2014 until August 2017....

The shooters were reportedly part of a black nationalist, anti-police religious sect. While the threat from the far right is real, so is the violent threat posed by the far left.
