BioWare’s goodbye to Gaspur is understandably short and emotional. Here’s a brief quote taken from BioWare’s remembrance post:

Both Bioware’s Facebook and Twitter accounts are filled with comments and replies from community members and fans offering their condolences to Gaspur’s family and friends. His work surreptitiously touched many lives, and players of BioWare’s many games recognize how much that matters. The passion Gaspur put into his work doesn’t end here, as it remains part of the foundation of Anthem from which the game will grow going into its 2018 launch.

A graduate of game design from the Vancouver Film School, Gaspur got his start working as developer support for Propaganda Games. After helping create Turok in 2008 with Propaganda, Gaspur made the shift to BioWare as a gameplay and level designer. He spent the next several years working on major productions including Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, and much of Mass Effect 2’s most popular DLC including Lair of the Shadow Broker.

From 2012 through 2013, Gaspur worked for BioWare as a lead combat designer. In this role Gaspur focused almost entirely on Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer, though he contributed to DLC including Leviathan as well. It’s unclear when Gaspur shifted to Anthem to work as a lead gameplay designer, but he was very likely part of the project very early on. While working on Anthem, he consulted on major EA projects including Star Wars: Battlefront and Dragon Age: Inquisition. He also made time to teach at the Edmonton school NAIT.

Corey Gaspur will be sorely missed, both at BioWare and within the larger gaming community. Game Rant offers its condolences to Gaspur’s friends and family in this time of mourning.
