Irving took to Reddit today to give fans an update on what would be in the upcoming Anthem patch, much to the delight of many fans. In the post, Irving detailed several changes that will be rolling out in Anthem either on February 28 or March 1. The update plans to address a number of issues fans are raised regarding loot. The big three changes revolve around Inscriptions, Loot Tables, and Masterwork Embers.
In terms of Loot Tables, common (white) and uncommon (green) gear will be removed from the Level 30 loot pool, so players will not receive those items in place of higher tier items. Players will also need fewer Masterwork Embers to craft Masterwork gear as the requirement is going down from 25 to 15.
The biggest change comes to the Inscriptions that can roll on gear. Currently, players can receive a wide array of Inscriptions - even some that do not apply to that piece of gear. This update plans to change that entirely, making Inscriptions more relevant to the piece of gear, or at least adding a benefit to the Javelin as a whole. Assault Rifles will no longer roll with Pistol damage buffs, for example. This was one of the many changes posed by the Diablo 3 developer who discussed how Anthem could fix its loot system.
Many fans are surprised and generally happy with how fast this update is being rolled out. Fans of other games like Destiny 2 are used to waiting weeks or months before glaring issues are fixed, so it’s a nice change of pace to have a big fix coming to Anthem so soon. Hopefully, this means that BioWare can turn the game around quickly and make it a better experience for the players that stick with the game.
Anthem is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
