If you have played the demo or seen gameplay, you will notice that at the end of every mission you gain something called Alliance Experience. Every time you finish a contract, mission, stronghold or freeplay expeditions you gain Alliance Experience which is then added to a pool called the “Alliance System”. The Alliance System is a cumulative Experience you gain when you play with a group or play with your friends (even when they’re playing without you!).

So what can you do with Alliance XP? At the end of every week, the game will reward you with Coin (Anthem’s in-game currency) based on how much XP you pooled by that time. It is important to remember that you cannot exploit this by adding hundreds of people and reaping the benefits of their Alliance System.

You can only do this from your top 5 friends. However, if you continue to play co-op missions yourself, you can earn more Alliance XP and eventually bank it for Coin by the end of the week.

Anthem is planning on adding a guild system, where you can befriend and communicate with like-minded people who have the same play style. However, the guild system will not be added on launch. Developer Ben Irving has clarified these points on his Reddit post.

Anthem will release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 22 February. Here’s hoping it’s not riddled with bugs on launch!
