In a new blog post, new details have been revealed regarding all four Ultimate abilities available to Anthem players. These attacks are the most powerful moves in the game, only available after a certain amount of charging. Similar to Destiny’s class supers, Javelin Ultimates charge faster when taking down enemies and assisting nearby allies in a fight. While things could change during the remaining months of development, here are the four ultimate moves players can access as well as each ability as well:

Ranger

Melee ability: Shock Mace

Grenade Gear: Frag Grenade, Inferno Grenade, Frost Grenade, Sticky bomb, Seeker Grenade

Assault Launcher Gear: Homing Missile, Energy Pulse, Spark Beam, Venom Darts, Blast Missile

Support Systems: Bulwark Point, Muster Point

Ultimate: Multi-Target Missile Battery

As the jack of all trades, master of none Javelin, the Ranger can fit most situations easily and gets access to a number of different grenades and missiles. Performing a move that Iron Man would likely be proud of, the Ranger’s Ultimate sees it leap into the air and launches a small volley of rockets at a targeted area. The post also reveals that these missiles target enemies as well, making this move a great choice when dealing with an overwhelming number of fast moving creatures.

Colossus

Melee abilities: Heavy Smash, Shield Bash

Ordinance Launcher Gear: High Explosive Mortar, Burst Mortar, Firewall Mortar, Lightning Coil, Shock Coil

Heavy Assault Launcher Gear: Heavy Cannon, Flamethrower, Flak Cannon, Railgun, Acid Spitter

Support Systems: Taunt, Deflector Pulse

Ultimate: Seige Cannon

As the heavy hitter of the group, the Colossus gets access to the biggest weapons in the game. Its ultimate pulls out a massive siege cannon which can fire multiple explosive shots. The huge explosions that result make this move is especially useful for clearing out large groups of enemies or holding a choke point.

Storm

Melee ability: Fiery Strike

Blast Seals: Lightning Strike, Ice Storm, Flame Burst, Rime Blast, Living Flame

Focus Seals: Hoarfrost Shards, Fireball, Ball Lightning, Glacial Beam, Arc Burst

Support Seals: Wind Wall, Nexus

Ultimate: Elemental Storm

This super ties back into the fact that the Storm is the closest thing to a Mage that players are going to get in this game. As such, most of its available abilities are elemental in nature and focus on fighting from a distance rather than getting up close like the other javelins. Elemental Storm is a devastating attack that calls down successive blasts of ice, electricity, and fire into a targetted zone. The move finishes with a meteor strike, which makes this move highly effective on enemies that are unable to leave a contained area.

Interceptor

Melee ability: Double-Bladed Daggers

Assault Systems: Seeker Glaive, Cryo Glaive, Spark Dash, Acid Bomb, Cluster Mine

Strike Systems: Star Strike, Plasma Star, Nova Strike, Tempest Strike, Corrosive Spray

Support Systems: Rally Cry, Target Beacon

Ultimate: Assassin’s Blades

Still the most mysterious Javelin of the group, the Interceptor is essentially the high-speed assassin that gains access to quick hitting, high damage attacks either from its daggers, light weaponry, or throwing weapons.  When its ultimate is activated, dual energy blades appear in a flourish as the Interceptor moves quickly through individual targets, slicing them up for huge damage. Better yet, players only need to hit each target once, as an echo of the attack will continue to strike that target over a 10 second period.

There are still a lot of remaining details that EA and BioWare have yet to touch on, but as the game gets closer to its public beta test and eventual release in February, fans should expect to see plenty more on this ambitious title over the coming weeks and months. New livestreams are popping up more frequently as well typically hosted by BioWare lead producer Mike Gamble joined by another developer hoping on to show off more unscripted gameplay.

Anthem releases on February 21, 2019 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
